Haiti Renewal 2026 Official Seal Washington Conference on Haiti's Unity and Renewal

Haiti Renewal 2026

"A nation does not wait to be rescued. It rises. It speaks. It leads."

Washington, D.C. — September 14–16, 2026

Haiti is not a crisis to be managed.

Haiti is a people to be partnered with.

For too long, Haiti has been defined by its wounds — by earthquakes, by storms, by headlines that reduce a civilization of extraordinary depth and resilience to a single, diminishing word: crisis.

We are here to change that narrative.

The Washington Conference on Haiti's Unity and Renewal is not a meeting about Haiti. It is a meeting of Haiti — its leaders, its diaspora, its faith communities, its scholars, its builders — gathered in the capital of the world's most powerful democracy to present a sovereign, credible, and urgent plan for national renewal.

We do not come asking to be saved. We come asking to be heard, supported, and partnered.

This is Haiti's moment. And it is America's opportunity.

Conference Foundation

Three Pillars

PILLAR 01

Unity

Bringing together Haiti's civil society, diaspora, faith leaders, scholars, and builders around a shared sovereign plan.

PILLAR 02

Renewal

A comprehensive, phased, and implementable blueprint for political transition, security stabilization, and democratic restoration.

PILLAR 03

Democracy

Restoring Haiti's democratic institutions and creating conditions for free, fair, and credible elections.

RIGHT NOW, IN HAITI:

  • Over 80% of Port-au-Prince is under gang influence
  • 5.5 million people face acute food insecurity
  • Thousands are displaced from their homes weekly
  • A generation of children has grown up without school or safety
  • The democratic process has been suspended for years

BUT ALSO, RIGHT NOW:

  • Haiti's civil society is organized, determined, and ready
  • Four million diaspora members are engaged and resourced
  • Faith leaders across the country hold communities together
  • A plan exists — credible, legitimate, and Haitian-authored
  • The world is watching — and the window is open

THE TIME IS NOW.

THE PLAN IS READY.

THE PEOPLE ARE UNITED.
